Niik Steel Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy

At Niik, we recognize the fundamental importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) and strive to ensure that they are upheld and promoted in our operations. We believe equity, diversity, and inclusion foster cooperation and growth, leading to stronger, healthier communities and business environments. 


We define diversity as the differences and variety in our individual cultural backgrounds, identities, knowledge, and skills. By fostering diversity in the workplace, we create opportunities to learn from one another and strengthen solidarity between employees.  


By fostering inclusion, we celebrate the differences that define us and work towards eliminating discrimination in the work environment. Niik Steel condemns discrimination based on an individual’s race, ancestry, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability alongside the guidelines set forth in the Canadian Human Rights Act.


By fostering diversity and inclusion, we aim to not only create an equal workplace but an equitable workplace as well. While equality is defined as providing every individual in a group the exact same resources and opportunities, equity is providing different resources and access to opportunities based on that person’s specific needs. Because every person is unique, the circumstances that prevent us from equal access to resources and opportunities will be unique as well. That is why we aim to create a workplace where each person is supported and equipped with the necessary resources to allow them to excel in their given role.

  • To create an environment where employees feel comfortable freely addressing incidents of discrimination, harassment, and bullying without fear.
  • To regularly review and evaluate our policies and practices, ensuring they are effective and responsive to our DE&I needs.
